Audio-Visual Systems Specialist Long term Contract in Arlington, TX Opportunity Overview
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking an experienced Audio-Visual Systems Specialist to support the planning, evaluation, design, and implementation of professional A/V technology across a diverse portfolio of corporate, meeting, training, event, and public-facing environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an A/V professional who understands both the technical and commercial sides of audiovisual systems. The ideal candidate can meet with stakeholders, translate operational needs into technical requirements, evaluate system designs, analyze vendor proposals and bills of material, assess pricing, and work with integrators to ensure solutions are appropriately designed, competitively priced, and successfully implemented.
This position goes beyond traditional A/V support. We are seeking someone who understands how modern enterprise audiovisual ecosystems are designed and deployed and can serve as a knowledgeable technical resource between business stakeholders, IT teams, manufacturers, and A/V integration partners.

The strongest candidate will be someone who has spent time working for or alongside a professional A/V integrator, manufacturer, consultant, or enterprise technology organization and understands what goes into designing and pricing a complete audiovisual solution.
You should be comfortable walking into a space, understanding how it needs to function, assessing the existing environment, recommending the appropriate technology, reviewing an integrator's proposed solution, and identifying whether the design and pricing make sense.
This position is particularly well suited for an experienced A/V Systems Specialist, AV Engineer, AV Systems Designer, AV Integration Specialist, AV Consultant, Unified Communications/AV Specialist, or Technical Project Specialist who wants broader ownership of audiovisual technology strategy and implementation.

What You'll Be Doing

Partner with business stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and document audiovisual requirements for conference rooms, executive meeting spaces, training facilities, event spaces, multipurpose rooms, dining and hospitality environments, and other technology-enabled facilities.

Translate business and operational requirements into practical A/V system specifications, technical recommendations, and solution designs.

Evaluate proposed audiovisual architectures to determine whether equipment, capabilities, system sizing, interoperability, and overall design appropriately meet the intended use case.

Review integrator and vendor proposals, including:
-
Bills of material (BOMs)
-
Equipment selections and quantities
-
Labor estimates
-
Installation and programming costs
-
Manufacturer pricing and discounts
-
Overall solution cost and value
-

Compare proposed pricing against industry and market expectations to help ensure solutions are technically appropriate and commercially competitive.

Recommend audiovisual technologies including displays, projection systems, microphones, loudspeakers, amplifiers, DSP platforms, video conferencing systems, cameras, switching and routing equipment, control systems, and digital signage.

Evaluate and support Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and other enterprise collaboration environments.

Work with A/V integrators, technology vendors, manufacturers, IT teams, facilities personnel, and business stakeholders throughout system planning and deployment.

Review system drawings, signal-flow diagrams, equipment schedules, rack elevations, schematics, and other technical documentation.
-
Conduct site surveys and facility assessments to identify infrastructure requirements, installation constraints, connectivity considerations, and potential design risks.
-
Validate completed installations against approved designs, specifications, and intended functionality.
-
Participate in commissioning, testing, acceptance, and turnover activities for new or upgraded A/V environments.
-
Troubleshoot complex audiovisual issues and recommend corrective actions, configuration changes, equipment upgrades, or longer-term improvements.
-
Help establish and maintain A/V technology standards, design guidelines, equipment specifications, and lifecycle strategies across the organization.

Prepare technical documentation, requirements documents, recommendations, comparison analyses, and presentations for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
-
Manage multiple simultaneous A/V initiatives while coordinating priorities, vendors, stakeholders, schedules, and deliverables.
-
Stay current with emerging enterprise A/V technologies, conferencing platforms, AV-over-IP solutions, manufacturers, integration practices, and industry pricing trends.
-
3+ years of professional experience supporting, designing, evaluating, engineering, or integrating commercial or enterprise audiovisual systems.

Strong working knowledge of professional A/V technologies including:

Experience reviewing or creating A/V bills of material, equipment lists, system drawings, technical specifications, or vendor proposals.

Ability to evaluate whether an A/V solution is appropriately engineered for the business requirement rather than simply accepting a vendor-proposed design.

Understanding of professional A/V integration methodologies, equipment manufacturers, installation practices, labor requirements, and general industry pricing models.

Ability to interpret signal-flow diagrams, schematics, floor plans, technical drawings, rack elevations, and system documentation.

Strong understanding of the relationship between audiovisual systems and the broader IT environment, including IP networking, conferencing platforms, network-connected devices, and enterprise infrastructure.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to compare competing solutions, identify unnecessary or missing components, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and recommend the best overall value.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders while communicating effectively with engineers, integrators, and manufacturers.

Ability to independently manage multiple projects, assessments, vendors, and stakeholder requirements.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Audio Engineering, Audiovisual Technology, Communications Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
