Experience Level: Senior / Principal Consultant
Experience: 12+ years of overall PLM experience preferred, including significant hands-on Siemens Teamcenter delivery experience
The Opportunity
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking a senior Siemens Teamcenter Functional Expert / PLM Solution Consultant to support a large-scale Product Lifecycle Management transformation.

This is not a Teamcenter production-support or purely technical development position. We are looking for an experienced PLM consultant who can work directly with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, procurement, and technology stakeholders to understand complex product-development processes and translate them into scalable Teamcenter solutions.

The strongest candidates will have led functional workstreams across enterprise Teamcenter implementations, transformations, upgrades, or global rollouts and will be comfortable operating at the intersection of business process, product data, solution design, and Teamcenter configuration.

You should bring deep expertise in at least one major Teamcenter functional domain, with broader working knowledge across several others.
Core Functional Areas
We are particularly interested in consultants with significant expertise in one or more of the following:

  • Item, Product Structure & BOM Management

  • Engineering Change & Configuration Management

  • Supplier / Partner Collaboration

  • Product Compliance & Material Compliance

  • Classification & Product Data Governance

  • Document, Workflow & Release Management

What You’ll Do PLM Process & Solution Consulting

  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, procurement, and IT stakeholders to understand current-state product lifecycle processes.

  • Lead discovery sessions and functional workshops with business and technical teams.

  • Translate business requirements into scalable Teamcenter functional designs.

  • Define future-state PLM processes, workflows, governance models, and operating procedures.

  • Identify process gaps and recommend practical solutions using standard Teamcenter capabilities wherever possible.

  • Produce functional specifications, process flows, use cases, configuration requirements, and acceptance criteria.

  • Serve as a bridge between business stakeholders, Teamcenter architects, developers, integration teams, and testing teams.

  • Support solution validation, UAT, deployment, training, adoption, and post-implementation stabilization.
Item, Product Structure & BOM Management

  • Design and optimize item master, part, document, and product-structure processes within Teamcenter.

  • Define enterprise approaches for EBOM, MBOM, multi-domain BOMs, configurable products, variants, revisions, effectivity, and product configurations.

  • Establish governance for parts, assemblies, specifications, documents, and related product data.

  • Support BOM authoring, reconciliation, release, revision, and downstream consumption processes.

  • Define product configuration and change-control approaches across complex product structures.

  • Help connect engineering product definitions with manufacturing, supply chain, service, and other downstream organizations.

  • Support Teamcenter integration with enterprise applications such as SAP or other ERP platforms.

  • Enable digital-thread capabilities that improve traceability from product definition through manufacturing and downstream lifecycle processes.
Engineering Change & Configuration Management

  • Design and improve enterprise ECR, ECO, ECN, change notice, deviation, and release processes.

  • Configure or define functional requirements for Teamcenter change workflows, approvals, routing, notifications, and governance.

  • Establish change-impact analysis across affected parts, BOMs, documents, manufacturing processes, suppliers, and quality records.

  • Define revision, maturity, release-status, baseline, configuration, and effectivity strategies.

  • Improve traceability between requested changes, impacted product structures, approvals, implementation activities, and final releases.

  • Help organizations reduce engineering-change cycle time while maintaining appropriate controls and auditability.
Supplier & Partner Collaboration

  • Design processes that securely connect suppliers and external partners to the product-development lifecycle.

  • Support supplier onboarding, supplier-information management, qualification, and controlled collaboration.

  • Define processes for supplier part submissions, technical documents, specifications, approvals, and engineering exchanges.

  • Establish appropriate access, security, data-sharing, and governance models for external collaboration.

  • Partner with engineering, procurement, sourcing, and supply-chain organizations to improve supplier involvement in product development.

  • Support Teamcenter supplier-management and collaboration capabilities where applicable.
Product Compliance

  • Define and improve processes for managing product, material, supplier, and regulatory compliance information within the PLM environment.

  • Support compliance programs associated with requirements such as:

    • RoHS

    • REACH

    • Conflict Minerals

    • Environmental and material regulations

    • Customer or industry-specific compliance requirements

  • Establish processes for material declarations, supplier compliance information, evidence, approvals, reporting, and auditability.

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, regulatory, procurement, and supplier-management teams.

  • Improve traceability between product structures, materials, suppliers, and compliance requirements.

What We’re Looking For Required Background

  • Significant professional experience in Product Lifecycle Management, preferably within complex engineering or manufacturing environments.

  • Extensive hands-on functional experience with Siemens Teamcenter.

  • Proven experience delivering Teamcenter implementations, transformations, upgrades, migrations, or enterprise rollouts.

  • Strong experience with Teamcenter Active Workspace.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead functional discovery and requirements workshops.

  • Experience converting business requirements into Teamcenter process and solution designs.

  • Understanding of enterprise product-development processes from engineering through manufacturing and supply chain.

  • Experience participating throughout the PLM delivery lifecycle, including:

    • Discovery and requirements

    • Fit-gap analysis

    • Solution design

    • Functional configuration

    • Testing and UAT

    • Deployment

    • Training and user adoption

    • Production stabilization

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work equally well with engineers, business leaders, product owners, architects, developers, and executive stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Teamcenter Expertise
Strong candidates should demonstrate meaningful experience across several of the following areas:

  • Teamcenter Active Workspace

  • Structure / Product Structure Management

  • BOM Management

  • Engineering Change Management

  • Configuration Management

  • Workflow Management

  • Classification

  • Document Management

  • Release Management

  • Supplier Management / Supplier Collaboration

  • Product or Material Compliance

  • Item and Product Data Management

  • Variant and Configuration Management

  • Teamcenter-to-ERP integration processes

What Will Differentiate You
We are especially interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Ownership of a Teamcenter functional workstream rather than simply participation on a project.

  • Experience designing enterprise PLM processes for complex, global engineering organizations.

  • Deep knowledge of EBOM/MBOM relationships and downstream product-data consumption.

  • Experience integrating Teamcenter processes with SAP or another enterprise ERP platform.

  • Strong understanding of engineering-change impact across BOMs, manufacturing, suppliers, quality, and compliance.

  • Experience establishing PLM governance, data standards, classification, configuration, or release strategies.

  • Ability to challenge inefficient legacy processes and recommend a better future-state solution rather than simply recreating existing workflows inside Teamcenter.

  • Experience with large or highly configurable product structures.

  • Background within industries such as aerospace, automotive, industrial manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, telecommunications equipment, medical devices, or other complex product-engineering environments.

  • Experience supporting global Teamcenter programs involving multiple business units, regions, plants, or engineering organizations.

The Profile We Want
The ideal consultant is someone who can sit down with an engineering organization, understand how a product is conceived, structured, changed, released, manufactured, sourced, and governed, and then determine how Teamcenter should enable that process.

You should be capable of discussing business processes with engineering and operations leaders in one meeting and then working with Teamcenter architects and technical teams in the next to turn those requirements into an executable solution.

We are looking for a Teamcenter functional authority and PLM problem-solver—not simply someone who has used Teamcenter.
