Lead High-Impact Data and AI Transformation
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking an accomplished Senior Technical Project Lead to guide a large-scale data engineering and artificial intelligence adoption initiative within a complex enterprise environment.

This opportunity is designed for a senior project or program leader who combines disciplined project management with a strong understanding of modern data platforms, cloud technologies, analytics, and AI-enabled transformation.

You will partner with data engineers, architects, developers, analysts, business leaders, vendors, security teams, and AI stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into coordinated, measurable delivery plans. You will establish project structure, manage dependencies, track technical deliverables, resolve risks, and ensure that business, engineering, and leadership teams remain aligned throughout the program.

This is not a Scrum Master-only or administrative project coordinator position. The ideal candidate has led complex technical initiatives involving data architecture, cloud platforms, data pipelines, analytics, and enterprise system implementation.

You will not be expected to write production code, but you must possess enough technical fluency to participate in architecture discussions, challenge assumptions, evaluate dependencies, support estimation, and communicate delivery risks to both technical and executive audiences.
What You’ll Do

  • Lead planning and delivery for enterprise data engineering, analytics, cloud, and AI adoption initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain project charters, delivery plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, resource plans, and success metrics.

  • Coordinate work across data engineering, data architecture, application development, business intelligence, analytics, security, governance, infrastructure, and business teams.

  • Partner with technical leaders to manage data platform, data pipeline, data warehouse, data modeling, integration, and reporting workstreams.

  • Translate technical concepts, architecture decisions, and delivery risks into clear business and executive-level communications.

  • Facilitate requirements gathering, planning workshops, technical discussions, decision-making sessions, and executive status reviews.

  • Manage project scope, priorities, dependencies, assumptions, risks, issues, change requests, and corrective actions.

  • Track technical deliverables and ensure teams remain aligned with program objectives, timelines, and acceptance criteria.

  • Support project budgeting, financial forecasting, resource allocation, vendor management, and financial status reporting.

  • Coordinate internal teams, external vendors, consultants, and business partners across multiple concurrent workstreams.

  • Establish project governance, escalation paths, reporting standards, decision logs, and documentation practices.

  • Support platform modernization and AI adoption efforts while ensuring appropriate attention to security, compliance, privacy, and data governance.

  • Identify delivery risks early and work with stakeholders to develop practical mitigation and recovery plans.

  • Prepare executive dashboards, project status reports, presentations, roadmaps, lessons learned, and program recommendations.

  • Ensure solutions move successfully from planning and design through implementation, adoption, and operational transition.
Required Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience leading complex technical projects or programs within enterprise environments.

  • Significant experience managing initiatives involving data engineering, analytics, cloud platforms, business intelligence, or enterprise data systems.

  • Demonstrated experience leading data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, data integration, or data platform initiatives from planning through implementation.

  • Experience managing large-scale analytics, reporting, big data, or digital transformation programs.

  • Strong understanding of technical delivery processes, including requirements, architecture, development, testing, deployment, implementation, and operational transition.

  • Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data warehouses, cloud data platforms, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines.

  • Experience defining project scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and measurable success criteria.

  • Experience with project budgets, forecasting, resource planning, vendor coordination, and financial status reporting.

  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams that may include data engineers, architects, developers, analysts, product owners, security professionals, vendors, and business stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Confluence, SharePoint, or comparable project management platforms.

  • Strong documentation skills, including project plans, charters, schedules, RAID logs, governance materials, decision records, and lessons learned.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and executive communication skills.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language and actionable decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain attention to detail across multiple workstreams.

  • Active Project Management Professional certification is required and must be clearly listed on the resume.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting healthcare technology, healthcare data, public-sector technology, or another highly regulated environment.

  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability and data standards such as HL7, FHIR, or C-CDA.

  • Experience supporting artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, generative AI, or enterprise AI adoption programs.

  • Understanding of AI governance, responsible AI, model risk, data privacy, cybersecurity, and enterprise data governance.

  • Experience with cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or comparable solutions.

  • Knowledge of information management principles, enterprise architecture, software development lifecycle practices, and technology governance.

  • Experience working within Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.

  • Strong consulting, stakeholder management, and organizational change facilitation skills.

  • Additional certifications such as PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, TOGAF, Azure, AWS, GCP, or cloud solution architecture credentials.
The Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will be a senior technical project leader who can confidently operate between executive leadership and engineering delivery teams.

You should be able to understand conversations involving data architecture, cloud environments, data pipelines, integrations, analytics, security, and AI without losing focus on project execution. You know how to bring structure to ambiguity, establish accountability, surface risks early, and move complex technical programs toward measurable outcomes.

You are likely to succeed in this role if you have:

  • Led enterprise data or cloud transformation programs with multiple technical workstreams.

  • Managed architects, engineers, analysts, vendors, and business stakeholders within the same delivery environment.

  • Presented complex technical risks, decisions, and progress to senior leadership.

  • Balanced project governance with the flexibility required in evolving technology programs.

  • Supported teams introducing new data, analytics, or AI capabilities into a regulated organization.

  • A proactive leadership style and the confidence to independently drive decisions, follow-up, and execution.
