Senior .NET Application Modernization Developer — Hybrid in Fort Worth

CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking a senior, hands-on .NET developer to help assess and modernize a mature VB.NET application into a modern C#/.NET solution.

This is not a simple code-conversion project. We are looking for someone who can reverse-engineer a legacy application, uncover embedded business rules and dependencies, determine what functionality must be preserved, and design a secure, maintainable, and supportable modern replacement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze and document an existing VB.NET/.NET Framework application

  • Identify business-critical functionality, dependencies, integrations, and technical debt

  • Design a modern C#/.NET and ASP.NET Core architecture

  • Develop a phased modernization approach that protects ongoing production operations

  • Apply modern practices such as dependency injection, async programming, automated testing, modern logging, and secure configuration

  • Document technical findings, recommendations, risks, and migration plans

  • Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to validate requirements and scope

Required experience:

  • Strong professional experience with C#, modern .NET, and ASP.NET Core

  • Ability to read, troubleshoot, and support legacy VB.NET applications

  • Demonstrated legacy application modernization, refactoring, or replacement experience

  • API and systems-integration development

  • Strong software engineering, testing, source-control, and CI/CD practices

  • Excellent technical documentation and analytical skills

Additional preferred experience:

  • SSRS and SSIS

  • RabbitMQ or similar messaging technology

  • HTML5 and jQuery

  • Mission-critical, government, public-safety, law-enforcement, or regulated environments

  • Computer-Aided Dispatch or CentralSquare applications

Position details:

  • Contract engagement from August 2026 through January 2027

  • Possibility of extension

  • Hybrid work schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

  • 40 hours per week

  • Virtual interview process

Qualified candidates should email their resume to TTS@CornerStoneStaffing.com.
