GIS Analyst
Location: Ft. Worth, TX
Position Type: Contract
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented GIS Analyst to support property management, land records, lease administration, and geospatial data maintenance initiatives. This role will be responsible for maintaining GIS databases, researching property records, creating and updating geospatial features, and ensuring data integrity across multiple real estate and asset management programs.

The ideal candidate has experience working with GIS platforms, land records, legal descriptions, property boundaries, and geospatial data management.

Key Responsibilities GIS Data Management
  • Verify, update, and maintain GIS databases and geospatial datasets
  • Perform quality control reviews to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Research and validate property information, legal descriptions, and ownership records
  • Upload, edit, and maintain GIS records and associated documentation
Property & Lease Administration Support
  • Maintain GIS records related to:
    • Fee-owned properties
    • Tax-foreclosed properties
    • Property leases
    • Mineral management leases
  • Support property and lease administration programs through accurate geospatial data maintenance
  • Update property attributes and boundary information as needed
Boundary & Mapping Development
  • Create and edit boundary features including:
    • Easements
    • Rights-of-Way (ROW)
    • Lease boundaries
    • Property polygons
  • Utilize ArcGIS Pro, COGO tools, survey exhibits, KMZ files, and shapefiles to develop and maintain spatial data
  • Interpret land records, plats, surveys, and legal descriptions to accurately map property features
Data Quality & Reporting
  • Conduct routine quality assurance reviews of GIS datasets
  • Ensure consistency between GIS records and supporting documentation
  • Maintain data standards and support ongoing geospatial data improvement initiatives
  • Assist with special projects and additional GIS-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Geography
    • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
    • Public Administration
    • Urban Planning
    • Real Estate
    • Related field
  • 2+ years of GIS data editing experience
  • 2+ years of experience interpreting land records and legal descriptions
  • 1+ year of experience with:
    • Data entry
    • Data quality control
    • GIS database maintenance
  • 1+ year of experience utilizing ArcGIS Pro and GIS tools to create and maintain polygon boundaries

Preferred Qualifications
  • Easement or Right-of-Way (ROW) Agent License
  • Experience with:
    • Property Lease Management
    • Mineral Management
    • Oil & Gas Leases
    • Real Estate Asset Management
  • Experience with GIS database administration and maintenance
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Experience Builder
  • Experience working with survey exhibits, plats, and legal descriptions
