Mainframe COBOL Developer

Work Setting: Remote (TX, FL, AZ, SC, NC, KY, GA, IN, TN)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe COBOL Developer to support a large-scale healthcare systems environment. This position will focus on maintaining and enhancing mission-critical applications, supporting claims adjudication and payment processing systems, and collaborating with cross-functional technical teams in a fast-paced production environment.
This opportunity includes production support, enhancement work, smaller project initiatives, and collaboration with development, QA, operations, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities
-
Develop and maintain COBOL and ADS programs within a mainframe environment
-
Work with IDMS Network and IDMS Relational Databases
-
Analyze technical and design specifications to implement coding changes
-
Perform debugging, unit testing, and integration testing
-
Support QA, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and external testing efforts
-
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
-
Collaborate effectively with internal teams and contracted staff

Participate in rotational on-call support

10+ years of experience with Mainframe

10+ years of experience with MVS COBOL

10+ years of experience with JCL

10+ years of experience with IDMS/Network

7+ years of experience with CA-ADS

5+ years of experience with Changeman

5+ years of experience with CICS

5+ years of experience with VSAM
