Position Overview
We are seeking a Telecommunications Technician (Radio/LMR) to support a 2026 Fire/EMS Radio Reprogramming Project. This is a hands-on, field-based opportunity supporting public safety communications by programming, tracking, and documenting Fire/EMS radio assets.
This position requires travel between facilities and candidates must be able to pass a CJIS background check.

Key Responsibilities

Program and document Fire/EMS radios using Motorola Customer Programming Software (CPS)

Track and manage radio inventory using Motorola MCM (Asset Tracking Tool)

Work on-site at the Radio Shop and travel to Fire Stations and Dispatch Centers

Use encryption loading devices, programming cables, and laptops to complete radio updates

Complete detailed documentation and checklist requirements

Provide status updates and communicate progress to project leadership
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
-
2+ years of experience in telecommunications, radio technician, or LMR environments

Basic understanding of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) programming

Experience working in an enterprise-level IT or communications environment

CJIS clearance or ability to successfully pass a CJIS background check

Reliable transportation for local travel between facilities
