Senior Data Visualization Developer (Power BI / SQL / Healthcare Analytics)

Overview:
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is actively seeking an experienced and self-directed Data Visualization Developer for a high-impact, fully remote contract opportunity. This role is perfect for data professionals who thrive on translating complex healthcare and clinical datasets into powerful, actionable visual stories using Power BI and SQL.
This short-term project involves migrating Tableau reports into Power BI, while reimagining dashboards to support improved decision-making around clinical quality and outcomes. You ll be joining a forward-thinking environment that values autonomy, curiosity, and sharp execution.

What You ll Do:
- Design and develop reporting dashboards, KPIs, and visualizations to support clinical and quality improvement initiatives
- Translate stakeholder needs into compelling Power BI reports and data models
- Work cross-functionally with data engineering, clinical teams, and IT to gather requirements and shape technical deliverables
- Reverse engineer Tableau dashboards for Power BI migration
- Lead data discovery and ETL understanding with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Contribute to performance measurement frameworks, methodologies, and reporting systems
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical teams
- Serve as a hands-on Technical Product Owner, driving BI outcomes aligned to clinical data goals
- Advocate for and apply best practices in data visualization and dashboard usability
What You Bring:
- 6+ years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics
- 5+ years hands-on experience developing in Power BI (including DAX, modeling, and publishing to service)
- 3+ years of SQL experience using SSMS in data extraction and transformation
- 3+ years working with Tableau (migrating reports into Power BI is a bonus)
- Experience with relational databases and dimensional modeling
- Solid grasp of data visualization design principles, dashboard usability, and end-user interaction
- Ability to work independently, own deliverables, and proactively solve data-related challenges
- Experience in an Agile development environment
Nice to Have (Preferred):
- Experience with Home Health or Healthcare Analytics
- Familiarity with Home Care Home Base (HCHB), OASIS datasets, or clinical data reporting
- Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Data Warehouse, or cloud-based data ecosystems
- Background in product ownership or cross-functional requirements gathering
Work Sample Requirement:
Candidates must submit either a .Pbix file or a PDF representation of their data visualizations, ideally including data model architecture (redact as needed). This helps us assess both technical capability and storytelling approach.
Schedule & Location:
- Remote (must work standard EST or CST hours)
- Monday to Friday, 8am 5pm
- Contract engagement (W2 or C2C via approved partners)
