Tier 1 Deployment Technician
Job Summary
This position is a detail-oriented and customer-focused Tier 1 Desktop Support Technician responsible for providing technical support within a healthcare IT setting. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of clinical and administrative systems, supporting clinicians and healthcare professionals in delivering patient care. The ideal candidate will have desktop support experience, troubleshooting skills, and a keen understanding of maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Unpack, set up, and validate the deployment of technical hardware to include laptops, desktops, printers, desk phones, and peripheral devices.
- Provide Tier 1 technical support for clinical and administrative staff in clinic operations.
- Install healthcare-specific applications (e.G., EHR/EMR systems).
- Support incidents, service requests, and escalations as appropriate.
- Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
- Dispose of technical devices for proper decommissioning.
- Maintain inventory of IT assets and assist with device deployment and recovery.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare IT standards, including HIPAA, HITECH, and internal security protocols.
- Provide technical support during project Go-Lives and the days following.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent;associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- 1+ year experience in IT support, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and MS Office products.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;customer-service mindset.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Active Directory, basic networking, and remote support tools.
- Knowledge of data privacy best practices (HIPAA compliance).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
