Working with Business Leaders and the Finance and People teams, the Director of Workday will oversee the strategic direction of the Workday Financial Management (FIN) and Human Capital Management (HCM) systems across the organization and its affiliated entities. This leader will manage and support teams responsible for maintaining these systems and associated modules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and resolve all financial and HCM system issues promptly and effectively, maintaining a clear process for tracking and reporting.
  • Lead end-to-end planning, development, implementation, and optimization of all FIN and HCM systems and processes.
  • Ensure data security and compliance related to sensitive financial and personal information.
  • Maintain a product roadmap for all FIN and HCM systems and a multi-year strategic vision, including a semi-annual release testing and adoption process.
  • Analyze current and future business processes to identify opportunities for improvement in collaboration with implementation partners, developers, and business stakeholders.
  • Explore and execute strategies using advanced technologies to improve agility within FIN and HCM operations.
  • Manage relationships with third-party systems and services that integrate with FIN and HCM platforms.
  • Support finance, accounting, and HCM transformations through requirements gathering, workflow development, and testing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across departments including Accounting, FP&A, Technology, Legal, and HR to ensure alignment and achieve business goals.
  • Align system changes with other teams who share ownership of Workday.
  • Provide hands-on support in configuration, training, testing, and maintenance of Workday Financials and HCM systems.
  • Mentor and support internal staff to develop expertise in FIN and HCM system administration.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, cross-functional team including employees, contractors, and vendors.
  • Oversee project workflows, resourcing, budgets, and vendor billing.

Supervision:

This is a leadership role with responsibility for hiring, managing, and developing a team of employees.

Financial Responsibility:

Accountable for the annual budget of the Workday Resource Planning team, including licensing and project-related expenses.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, MIS, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience implementing, upgrading, and supporting large ERP systems and financial/HCM ecosystems.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Workday Financials and/or HCM.
  • Familiarity with tax calculator services, point-of-sale systems, payment platforms (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, WePay), and banking/payroll integrations.
  • Workday Pro Financials and/or HCM certification preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience managing teams.
