Position Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support a strategic initiative to migrate enterprise reporting and analytics solutions from Tableau to Microsoft Power BI. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, report developers, and data architects to analyze existing Tableau reports, document business requirements, validate migrated reports, and ensure reporting solutions meet business needs.
This role requires strong analytical skills, experience working with BI reporting platforms, and the ability to bridge business and technical teams throughout the migration lifecycle.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering & Business Analysis
. Analyze existing Tableau dashboards, reports, and data sources to understand business processes and reporting requirements.
. Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to document reporting needs, KPIs, metrics, and business rules.
. Create detailed functional and non-functional requirements for Power BI report development.
. Identify opportunities to improve reporting, visualization, and data consumption during the migration process.
Tableau Assessment & Migration Support
. Inventory and assess Tableau reports, dashboards, and data sources targeted for migration.
. Document report logic, calculations, filters, parameters, and data relationships.
. Work with Power BI developers to translate business requirements into Power BI reporting solutions.
. Assist in prioritizing reports and managing migration backlogs.
Data Validation & Quality Assurance
. Perform data reconciliation and validation between Tableau and Power BI reports.
. Develop and execute test cases to ensure report accuracy and consistency.
. Identify and investigate data discrepancies, working with technical teams to resolve issues.
. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and coordinate stakeholder sign-offs.
Reporting & Analytics
. Analyze business data to support decision-making and reporting enhancements.
. Define and document KPIs, metrics, and reporting standards.
. Create ad hoc analyses and business insights as needed during the migration project.
. Support report adoption and user training efforts.
Documentation & Governance
. Maintain report inventories, business glossaries, and requirements documentation.
. Document data definitions, report specifications, and validation results.
. Support data governance and reporting standardization initiatives.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
. 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or reporting roles.
. Experience working with Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions.
. Strong understanding of reporting metrics, KPIs, and business processes.
. Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
. Advanced Excel and SQL skills.
Preferred Qualifications
. Experience with Power BI reporting and analytics.
. Experience supporting BI migration or modernization projects.
. Familiarity with data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts.
. Experience conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
. Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or Azure data platforms.
. Business Analyst or Data Analytics certifications.

. Contribute to the successful delivery of the Tableau-to-Power BI migration program.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $80,600.00 - $172,400.00.
