We are seeking a forward-thinking AI Augmented Engineering Lead to drive innovation within our Payment Integrity practice. This is a high-impact leadership role combining hands-on engineering expertise with AI-enabled development practices to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and modernize software engineering across the organization.
This role serves as the onshore technical authority, leading architecture, engineering standards, and delivery execution across hybrid cloud environments. You will partner closely with offshore teams, business stakeholders, and sales leaders to translate complex healthcare payment integrity requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant solutions. Preferred location is Knoxville, TN; however, candidates aligned to any CGI U.S. office will be considered. Eastern Time Zone working hours are required.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
How you'll make an impact
Leverage AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Gemini Code Assist to accelerate development, testing, and documentation
Design and standardize AI-assisted coding patterns, prompts, and workflows to improve code quality and maintainability
Act as the onshore technical authority for architecture, system design, and enterprise integration patterns
Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, and design sessions to ensure scalability, performance, and compliance
Drive performance optimization initiatives including profiling, tuning, and resolving complex system bottlenecks
Provide technical leadership and daily direction to offshore teams, ensuring alignment, quality, and delivery momentum
Oversee end-to-end solution delivery across development, testing, and deployment with strong CI/CD practices
Partner with stakeholders and business leaders to align technical solutions with healthcare payment integrity requirements
Support pre-sales activities including RFP responses, solution design, demos, and proof-of-concepts
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
What you'll bring
8+ years of software engineering experience including senior or technical leadership roles
Strong expertise in C#, RESTful services, XML/JSON, and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular
Proven experience in solution architecture and system design across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments
Demonstrated success leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and outcomes
Experience leading distributed onshore–offshore engineering teams with strong delivery governance
Deep knowledge of performance optimization, troubleshooting, and complex production issue resolution
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and engineering automation
Experience translating complex business and regulatory requirements into secure, scalable
solutions
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and executive stakeholders
Desired qualifications
Experience in healthcare insurance, claims processing, or Payment Integrity solutions
Familiarity with healthcare regulations, data privacy, and compliance frameworks
Hands-on experience supporting pre-sales, demos, and client-facing technical engagements
Agile/Scrum experience with active participation in sprint planning and execution
Exposure to cloud AI services and enterprise AI adoption strategies

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $102,000.00 - $218,200.00.
