Role Description:
The Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Quality Control (QC) team is responsible for the QC inspection of Global Banking & Global Markets (GBGM) AML/Know Your Customer (KYC) client data and information for the Bank’s branches across its global divisions. An exciting opportunity has arisen within our dynamic GBGM AML division, located in our Belfast office. This position falls within the Global AML Operations Quality Control team and will involve supporting monthly control testing. You will join and collaborate with an international team.
The role involves conducting a comprehensive Refresh Quality Inspection of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requirements for GBGM records that have recently completed refreshes. As a Senior Business Control Specialist, you will be responsible for executing testing that assesses compliance with AML/Financial Crimes Global Standard requirements. You will ensure accuracy and timelines of test execution. Additionally, you will maintain a culture of compliance and supporting the identification, escalation, and timely mitigation of compliance risks.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and coordinate a thorough Refresh Quality inspection of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requirements for GBGM records that have recently completed refreshes.
- Provide test results that are used to measure associate performance and control effectiveness for compliance with AML regulations and policies.
- Execute QC activities including managing case assignment, test execution, and reporting results in a timely manner.
- Provide support on Regulatory Exams, Internal Audits, and other Monitoring & Inspection reviews.
- Capture relevant data and information to support governance activities for dashboard reporting.
- Assist in enhancing the success of Quality Control program.
- Implements enhanced QC practices to support business continuity efforts.
What we are looking for:
- Logical reasoning and analytical skills to assess escalations, identify areas for improvement, and drive effective solution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organisational abilities.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in analysing large and complex datasets to develop and present executive-level reports.
- Experience with Risk Management, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience with global AML concept, AML/KYC requirements, and Economic Sanctions laws and regulations in a corporate environment.
- Background in Quality Control/Assurance testing, Process Risk Control (PRC), Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), internal audit, risk management, process improvement, compliance, or front-line control functions.
- Ability to conduct research, analyse data, and ensure accuracy with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple requests and priorities, manage time effectively, and adapt to shifting deadlines and changing requirements.
- Advance skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint (for managing large datasets and reports).
Skills that will help:
- Exposure to Global Banking, Global Markets, or a diverse range of business lines and functions.
- Proven experience with working on highly productive teams in fast-paced environments.
- ACAMS or ICA certification is a plus.
