Process Overview*

ECM is a global team of more than 100 professionals responsible for the efficient and prudent management of the Corporation's as well as its subsidiaries' capital across the enterprise globally. ECM implements the Board’s capital management strategy including issuance, redemption or repurchase of common stock and other capital instruments. ECM works closely with lines of business and guides them to efficiently and proactively manage the enterprise's capital including design and implementation of capital allocation methodologies. ECM also recommends capital related financial resource limits to senior management. In addition, ECM produces and monitors regulatory capital metrics including capital adequacy ratios, leverage exposure and risk-weighted assets and oversees the end to end capital measurement process across the enterprise. Partnering with other control functions, ECM manages external disclosures related to capital management including 10Q, 10K, Pillar 3 disclosures and other regulatory filings‎. ECM interfaces with banking regulators globally on all capital related matters.

In our rapidly changing banking environment, the individual in this role will be expected to maintain policies and procedures for capital reporting as well have capital production responsibilities. They will learn to identify opportunities to enhance tools and processes and create documentation supporting those enhancements. The ability to coordinate projects to bring about change in processes and procedures, quantify the results of such change and communicate these enhancements across ECM, Technology and Compliance is important. Strong quantitative, analytic and communication skills as well as familiarity with banking products are needed.

Job Description*

This role is a Business Analyst position responsible for supporting G SIB capital calculation and reporting. The role supports Line of Business (LOB) G SIB management and is accountable for producing high frequency (daily and weekly) G SIB calculations in a highly manual, input intensive environment.

The position requires rapid onboarding, strong technical execution, and sustained accuracy under tight timelines. The ideal candidate can operate effectively with evolving inputs and frequent recalculations while maintaining data integrity, documentation standards, and control discipline.

Responsibilities*

  • Perform daily and weekly LOB level G SIB calculations, including aggregation, validation, and reconciliation of large volumes of manual inputs
  • Rapidly learn and apply G SIB methodology, internal calculation logic, and LOB specific drivers
  • Manage and validate multiple upstream data feeds, adjustments, assumptions, and overrides
  • Identify and challenge potential data issues or ambiguities and review against regulatory requirements
  • Execute recalculations quickly in response to:
    • Balance sheet movements
    • Data corrections
    • Management requests
  • Maintain robust calculation support, audit trails, and documentation suitable for internal review
  • Coordinate with multiple data providers and/or data sources, and clearly communicate expectations in terms of data and timelines
  • Clearly communicate calculation results, key drivers, and issues to the core G SIB team
  • Thrives in environments where outputs are:
    • Frequently refreshed
    • Period over period compared
    • Closely reviewed by management

Foundational skills*

  • Strong understanding of Basel capital requirements and financials, preferably in a US bank setting
  • Experience and exposure to Asset Liability Management (ALM) is preferred
  • Knowledge of Global Markets and Banking products and risk management
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python or AI/ML
  • Able to quickly learn and apply complex regulatory frameworks
  • Effective with minimal ramp up time and limited supervision
  • Rapidly absorb new calculation logic, templates, and data structures
  • Proven track record of clear and concise verbal and written communication, comfortable escalating issues to management
  • Intellectual curiosity, regularly asking questions to enable rapid learning of a complex topic.
  • Self-starter with ability to be proactive and well organized.
  • Flexibility in joining meetings during US time zone hours.
