Job Description:

Description:

The credit strategy group is responsible for generating forecasts and trade ideas for US corporate credit based on macroeconomic dynamics and bottom-up analysis. The platform is relatively new and offers the rare opportunity to be entrepreneurial within the context of sell-side research. The role requires a mix of traditional research skills such as analytical thinking, attention to detail, multitasking, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, along with an entrepreneurial mindset of creating original and anticipatory analysis to set market standards. The candidate should be comfortable with a variety of technical, writing and marketing skills. Good communication and presentation skills are a must, as the role involves both internal and external client dialog. In addition, since this is a publishing role, the ability to articulate concepts into written summaries, both long and short format, is required.

Tasks:

  • Publish daily, weekly and monthly research reports on corporate credit markets as well as periodic larger thematic pieces with original, anticipatory ideas.
  • Develop trade ideas on topical cross credit themes, and publish them in a timely and effective fashion.
  • Regularly interact with internal and external clients to articulate the team’s views and respond to client and sales/trading requests.
  • Follow market news and current events, and display an ability to integrate relevant information into published work on a timely basis.
  • Present ideas to clients via written work, phone calls and in-person visits/presentations.
  • In depth knowledge of Bloomberg, SQL, and Excel is required. Prior experience in handling and modeling big data in Python, Matlab or equivalent languages is a big plus.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in credit.
  • Masters/MBA/CFA a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thrive in a fast paced environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Produce actionable insights with minimal turn around time.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and exercising strong quality control over own work.
  • SQL, Excel, VBA skills, or prior experience with similar data processing languages. Ability to work with big data modeling platforms is preferred.
