The Team
We are looking for an Associate to join our Export & Agency Finance (EAF) team in London.
EAF is a core growth area for the Global Trade and Supply Chain Finance business within GPS. The Global EAF team has presence in New York, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Seoul, and Singapore and are currently looking to expand to meet our clients’ business needs.
The focus will be on EMEA deal origination support and structuring utilizing the full suite of Bank of America partners at Export Credit Agencies, Multi-Lateral Agencies, and Development Finance Institutions to provide risk mitigation or direct funding for large scale CAPEX projects and investments. The candidate will need to have strong marketing and structuring skills to drive origination and execution of new EAF opportunities.
You will be an integral part of our team and provide ongoing support for origination and execution of new EAF opportunities. The existing team are supportive, collaborative and driven with a self-starter attitude. Over a period of time the role is envisaged to independently run with execution of deals with minimal supervision and ample deal and product support from the team.
Responsibilities
Relationship management with the EMEA based Agencies for global opportunities will be a key responsibility. Role activities and responsibilities will include:
Provide support in origination, structure, execution, and syndication of EAF related transactions in the EMEA region
Help develop internal strategy for EMEA EAF and coordinate with the Global EAF team to partner for cross-border deal structuring with the Global client base
Travel within region for deal origination and present innovative ideas for new financing opportunities
Prepare new financing proposals for approvals to internal senior management
Help coordinate with product partners to deliver joint pitches where appropriate (Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Leasing, FICC Markets, Asset-backed securities (ABS), etc)
Support in deal negotiations with borrowers and work with internal partners to carry deals to financial close
Identify product gaps/opportunities and drive innovative solutions to deliver industry-leading solutions to the broader Bank of America client base
Work closely with Corporate Banking, Enterprise Credit, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Risk partners to drive profitable, responsible growth while enforcing risk discipline/awareness and product suitability
In partnership with Marketing and Banking Executives, increase visibility of the Bank’s EAF business by supporting execution of a comprehensive internal/external marketing campaigns
Work with Trade Distribution, FICC and DCM partners to syndicate new transactions. Prepare internal credit committee materials and pricing analysis
Partner with the Environmental and Social Governance group to identify priority transactions
What we are looking for
Required relevant prior experience in EAF or transferrable debt/credit related product structuring
Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal)
Strong numerical reasoning and cash flow modeling and pricing analysis skills
Ability to quickly absorb and understand policies; demonstrated ability to continuously learn and adapt
Understanding of export and project finance
Previous experience working with an Export Credit Agency (ECA) preferred
Execution-oriented and results-focused self-starter able to work independently
Comfortable in a fast-paced and change-oriented environment with a flexible working manner. Able to manage diverse workloads and prioritise accordingly
Strong team player, ability to work cohesively with a broader team globally & excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Basic orientation with EAF suite of products
Relationship management skills to manage broader client base
European language skills strongly preferred, but not essential
Industry specific and specialised knowledge and sectorial expertise preferred
