The Team:
The team offers an excellent entry point to the Market Risk organization, with the opportunity to interact with a broad cross-section of groups within the bank. The team frequently works alongside senior executives, supporting them with regulatory and governance deliverables. Role Description:
Market Risk management serves to independently oversee the Firm’s trading activities across the various trading desks and portfolios. The Global Market Risk Portfolio Analysis team within Market Risk is responsible for the implementation and management of cross-product processes and analyses to support Enterprise Market Risk requirements and senior Risk management. The team is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join the Market Risk Portfolio Analysis team. The candidate will support both ongoing routine activities and initiative work in the reporting work-stream. This includes supporting the end-to-end daily report production process, fielding ad-hoc questions from senior leaders and regulators, and developing and enhancing new and existing reports/reporting functionality. The role is ideal for a collaborative individual who likes being challenged, is able to quickly adapt to change, and has a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
- Managing several critical reporting and governance routines for stakeholders such as external regulators and internal committees
- Fielding ad-hoc questions and requests from regulators, internal senior risk leaders, and audit partners
- Developing new reports and analyses for a wide range of activities
- Maintaining a good and robust control environment for all processes
- Working with Technology and relevant supporting partners to correct issues and enhance functionality
- Maintaining, developing and reviewing documentation on processes, continuously looking to make improvements where possible
- Coordinating ad-hoc critical updates on key market events, engaging with colleagues across Global Markets Risk
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrable financial experience
- High level of Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Intellectually curious with the ability to investigate and develop root cause analysis
- Adept at communication with ability to influence co-workers across our global team and all levels of the organization
- Attention to detail
Skills that will help:
- Familiarity with market risk metrics like Value-at-Risk (VaR)
- Academic achievement in numerical disciplines would be advantageous
- Familiarity with coding, Python or SQL
