Job Description:
You will be part of a Global Markets Technology group responsible for building, upgrading and supporting Systematic Risk Trading applications for the securities and derivatives businesses. This exciting opportunity in Hong Kong or Tokyo is for an experienced and self-driven Technologist who considers themselves an expert in C++ development. In this challenging role you will be responsible for delivering on several high-profile key initiatives that will prove to be extremely lucrative for our business. Responsibilities:
You will be involved in deployment, support, and improvement of several Central Risk Book applications, covering both front-end and server-side development. You will be a core member of the global team and will be responsible for the entire delivery pipeline – from gathering requirements, writing tests, developing the system, and working with the tech partners and users to roll out the deliverable. You will also be expected to develop relationships across the regional and global technology partners and user communities. Your main responsibilities include –
- Work on a Market Making Engine for Asia Central Risk Book.
- Contribute to a continuous stream of strategy enhancements.
- Be part of the team's major application restructuring and redesign.
- Contribute to the core shared frameworks for these applications that affect a number of related systems.
- Cross-team integration. There is a high degree of business interaction in this role.
Required Skills:
- You can code. Solid hands-on development experience in C++ on Linux/Solaris platform. Strong knowledge of standard libraries, STL, containers, algorithm as well as multithreading. Hands-on experience developing database application using Oracle. Additional skills and experience in C#, Python and shell scripting will be a major bonus.
- You have a good design and common-sense including knowledge of effective design approaches and patterns. When to apply and when not to apply design patterns. Clean, supportable, testable and performant code being the goal.
- You have strong analytical skills required to develop solutions for complex business requirements.
- You are a team player with confidence and without ego as you will need to mentor junior members as well as receive guidance from senior team members.
- You have an innovative mindset. Not afraid to ask why and question established practices, always looking to own and improve quality via automation and tooling.
- You are highly motivated. Fast learner and able to work under pressure on tight deadlines with a sense of compliance to process.
- You are a good communicator to fellow developers, management, and business stakeholders.
- You are broadly skilled who can pick up new technologies and concepts and apply them to your day-to-day work. You should have an experience with tools and middleware like Jenkins, GIT, Jira, TIBCO, RV, EMS, AMPS or any similar technologies.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience working with agile methodologies.
- Demonstrable experience of front office system design and architecture.
- Business Knowledge – Understanding of equities and/or derivatives markets.
- Knowledge of FIX (heart beating, login, sequence numbers, message types etc.)
