Job Description:

The Family Office is a sub department of our Real Estate OFA practice that provides clients with the resources they need to manage complex financial affairs and reach their personal and family goals.


The Family Office Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting within the family office. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements for family office clients. The Manager
supervises family office staff and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting,
and the support of other family office tasks. This role will have contact with clients and outside advisors which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with clients to support their accounting and reporting needs, providing financial information for business decisions
- Become a trusted advisor to our clients by delivering our expertise in a timely and personal way
- Manage completeness and timeliness of client deliverables
- Utilize various technologies to add value to the client experience
- Assist in the creation or expansion of accounting policies and procedures
- Manage cash and ensure the accurate and timely processing of bill pay transactions – high volume of AP review
- Interface with clients and coordinate with team through virtual processes and platforms
- Perform overview of financial statements for inconsistencies and opportunities of increased revenue generation or cost savings
- Periodically prepare and/or review account reconciliations
- Review journal entries prepared by team members
- Coordinate annual audit and/or tax return with outside CPA firm
- Facilitate updates needed to the general ledger and other data requirements
- Collaborates with Partner to support overall department goals and objectives
- Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
- Develop technical solutions to new or highly complex problems that cannot be solved using existing methods or approaches
- Stay abreast of business, industry, and market information that may reveal business opportunities or risks

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; CPA Preferred
- Five (5) plus years of related experience required
- Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook required
- Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise, QuickBooks Online, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, employee benefits, and general ledger accounting
- Individual income tax experience a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to direct, develop, and coach team members
- Experience in autonomous decision making weighing the costs, benefits, risk and chances for success

The pay rate range for this job position is $95,000 to $129,160. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
