Job Description:

Manager – National Tax Office, Corporate Tax

Are you interested in becoming a technical leader in one of the fastest-growing public accounting firms in the country? Would you like the opportunity to work on some of the most complex corporate tax matters facing public and private companies while developing deep expertise in corporate tax, transactions, tax planning, and written tax advice?

If so, consider joining Baker Tilly's corporate tax practice within the National Tax Office. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside senior national office professionals and serve as a technical resource to engagement teams and clients across the firm. Our fully integrated corporate team advises on a broad range of federal income tax matters involving mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, consolidated return issues, international tax considerations, and other complex transactional matters.

What you will do:

• Research federal income tax issues and strategies and assist in providing technical advice to engagement teams and clients

• Prepare technical memoranda, tax analyses, opinion support, and other written work products addressing complex tax issues

• Assist with the analysis of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, financings, internal restructurings, and other corporate transactions

• Assist in the continued development and growth of Baker Tilly's corporate tax opinion and technical consulting practice

• Develop internal and external thought leadership, including articles, presentations, webinars, and training materials

• Monitor legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments affecting corporate taxation and communicate implications to internal and external stakeholders

• Work directly with senior leaders within the corporate, debt matters, and ASC 740 practice and other specialties throughout the National Tax Office

• Collaborate with professionals across international tax, tax controversy, accounting methods, compensation and benefits, SALT, ASC 740, and other specialty practices on multidisciplinary projects

Qualifications

• 4-Year Degree, License eligible required

• JD, LL.M. (Taxation), CPA, or combination required

• Five (5)+ years of experience in corporate tax, M&A tax, tax controversy, ASC 740, or a related technical tax specialty required

• Demonstrated experience researching and analyzing complex federal income tax issues

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting technical memoranda and tax analyses

• Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines

• Demonstrated commitment to technical excellence, continuous learning, and exceptional client service

• Interest in developing specialized expertise and serving as a technical resource within a national tax organization

The pay rate range for this job position is $109,460 to $207,530. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
