Job Description:

Baker Tilly Healthcare Consulting providers management and technology consulting services to hospital, health system, and other healthcare stakeholders. As a member of our consulting team you can expect to work with healthcare clients a variety of project types spanning full system implementation to business transformation roadmaps to healthcare analytics projects. Our team members participate in all phases of client engagements from project concepting to deployment and support

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to process improvement and business transformation projects for Baker Tilly’s healthcare clients with a focus on health systems and hospitals

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams through discovery sessions and interviews to identify, understand and translate business needs, processes and challenges into effective process documentation and requirements

  • Analyze healthcare data sets to support client initiatives, including but not limited to claims, remittance, EHR, clinical workflow improvement, and patient accounting data

  • Analyze and interpret healthcare transactional data (e.g., claim, payment, adjustment, and denial information) to identify issues, anomalies, or process breakdowns

  • Define key processes and capabilities to develop deliverables like process maps, capability definitions, or reporting inventories

  • Ability to own solution components from requirement through implementation

  • Manage project workstreams and tracking project financial throughout a project

  • Manage third party vendor relationships to as needed on behalf of clients and project needs

  • Construct status reports and project communication to client teams.

  • Participate in various phases of system implementations or optimizations which may include supporting client engagements with:

    • Design definition

    • System and acceptance testing and validation activities

    • Data mapping, migration and integration efforts

    • Support for defect tracking, assessment, and categorization

    • Post go-live support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, engineering, computer science, management information systems, healthcare, public health, or related field

  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience working with or for a healthcare provider organization

  • Healthcare provider industry experience required

  • Flexibility to travel to client site as needed and work outside of normal business hours due to client demands.

  • Experience working with healthcare data sets and operations, with demonstrated experience in at least one (1) of the following:

    • EHR implementation or optimization

    • Electronic Health Record (EHR) data

    • 837 claims data (professional, institutional, or dental)

    • 835 remittance / payment data

    • Patient accounting / billing system data

    • Revenue cycle / financial transactions data

    • VBC contract performance adoption and improvement

    • Clinical or operational healthcare data

    • Provider order sets and clinical documentation

  • Demonstrate management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills, and highly developed Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel) required

  • Self-motivation, organization, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the "big picture" as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects

  • Project experience with full lifecycle application development (e.g. requirements gathering, use case development, system analysis and design, integration, testing, deployment)

  • Project management experience within the provider space, i.e. EHR implementation, 3rd party system integration, process improvement initiatives, etc.is preferred

  • Business analysis tools and methodologies is preferred

  • Experience writing SQL queries to support analysis, validation, or troubleshooting activities is preferred

  • Experience validating or supporting ETL processes, data mappings, or transformations is preferred

  • Familiarity with major healthcare platforms or data environments (experience in at least one preferred): Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, Other patient accounting/revenue cycle platforms

  • Experience supporting vendor or enterprise platform implementations is preferred

  • Experience with testing methodologies, tools, or defect tracking processes is preferred

  • Exposure to healthcare revenue cycle, financial operations, or administrative workflows is preferred

  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and perform independent analysis is preferred

  • Self-motivation, organization, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills is preferred

The pay rate range for this job position is $85,910- $162,890. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
