Job Description:

Our Washington National Tax (WNT) practice is seeking an experienced Manager to join our Partnership Tax group. WNT serves as a resource to the firm and is comprised of professionals dedicated to providing practice offices and clients with thought leadership on legislative, regulatory, and market updates and consulting on all manners of tax technical issues. WNT works closely with our offices to provide tax services, evaluate tax issues, and mitigate tax risk.

This is a non-traditional client service role that offers deep exposure to partnership taxation, including regulatory development, cutting-edge tax issues and trends, and sophisticated technical projects and transactions. This position is ideal for strong technical specialists who want to expand their technical skills, as well as explain, advise and teach other tax professionals the latest in tax regulations and other guidance. What you will do:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on federal partnership taxation

  • Research technical issues for and provide transaction advice to engagement teams

  • Draft and review technical memoranda, opinions, private letter rulings, comment letters, and white papers.

  • Analyze IRS regulations and related guidance and distill them into internal and external thought leadership communications

  • Develop and present content for internal and external webinars, tax conferences, and industry meetings

  • Monitor federal legislation and litigation with tax implications/changes in order to provide internal and external insights

  • Collaborate with other WNT specialists and other subject matter experts throughout the firm.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or Law (J.D.)

  • CPA or JD required

  • LL.M. in Taxation or Masters in Tax, or equivalent, strongly preferred.

  • Five (5)+ years of progressive experience in U.S. federal tax experience with significant emphasis on partnership taxation.

  • Prior experience in public accounting, legal practice, or government. Prior national tax experience preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated and strong technical knowledge of Subchapter K

For California, Colorado, New York and Washington: The compensation range for this role is $109,460 to $207,530. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
