Job Description:

The Senior Manager of Firm Events Design will play a pivotal role in coordinating, designing and developing strategic content for high-impact Firm events, including large-scale meetings, offsites, and global broadcasts. This role is crucial to ensuring that events align with the strategic goals of the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in event design discipline and project management, effectively ensuring that events are executed on time, within budget, and achieve desired outcomes that are owned by leadership.

Responsibilities:

Event Design & Execution

  • Lead the design and orchestration of large Firm events, including offsites for 1,000+ attendees (Principal Connect) and large group webcasts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including communications writers, creative teams and the internal Travel & Events Team, to manage registration, travel, and other logistical needs.
  • Working with senior leaders defines the goals, objectives, and outcomes for each event, ensuring alignment with Firm strategy and leadership priorities.
  • Creates a detailed project plan for every event to ensure excellence in execution and comprehends executive calendars for preparation.
  • Ensure coherence and high-quality execution of all presentations and event materials.
  • Creates a predictable, repeatable process for planning and execution.
  • Directs presentation performance with best practices in public speaking and stage presence.

Collaboration with Leadership

  • Work closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to design meeting forums that foster engagement and strategic discussion.
  • Support the leadership team in maximizing outcomes from market visits, including coordinating agendas and ensuring comprehensive preparation.

Project Management

  • Leverage strong project management skills to oversee the planning and execution of all Firm events, from inception to debrief.
  • Ensures detailed T-60 plans are created for all events.
  • Collaborate with Communications relationship managers and content hub, and subject matter experts under leaders, to understand strategy and the topics that impact our business to create a strategic content plan for all events.
  • Work with creative resources to design clear and effective presentation graphics and design.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that all aspects of the events are executed flawlessly.
  • Utilize project management expertise during periods of downtime (between events) to support major change communication initiatives and other strategic projects.
  • Execution of event logistics
    Large scale learning events like the academies.

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze and evaluate the success of events against established goals and objectives, providing insights for future enhancements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continuously improve event design and execution strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Firm events management, with a proven track record in designing and executing large-scale events.
  • Strong experience in project management, with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex logistics.
  • Large corporate or resort industry production skills are preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives.
  • Ability to understand and relay business strategy that may include highly technical subject matter.
  • Candidate must have influencing skills with demonstrated ability to drive groups of people to conclusions quickly. They will need “elbows” at times.
  • Proficient in project management tools and event management software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

The compensation range for this role is $137,340 to $260,380. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
