Job Description:

The Conflicts and Client Acceptance Analyst will support the Firm’s client acceptance process. As part of that process, the Analyst will serve as a central point of contact for all service lines for clearing new clients and new projects through the Firm’s Independence, Conflicts and Risk Assessment database. The Analyst will assess a client or project’s likelihood of posing a risk to the Firm’s financial well-being, reputation or client relationships. The Analyst will also assist with special projects related to the firm’s overall client acceptance, risk and contract management initiatives. The role demands real-time risk analysis, practical problem-solving and decision making, and an ability to build relationships with senior decision makers across the Firm.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine conflict of interest searches by determining appropriate search criteria, running searches and analyzing results for data to be included or excluded based on the policies and procedures of the General Counsel.
  • Review and evaluate new client and project intake forms for litigation matters to ensure submitted party and matter information is correct. Follow up with senior project team members for more information if necessary.
  • Select and analyze conflict results or business issues. Provide concise and complete evaluations of potential conflict and business issues and identify recognized approaches for resolution.
  • Facilitate the resolution of any potential conflicts.
  • With the Director of Conflicts and Client Acceptance, train and oversee Baker Tilly’s offshore team members assisting with the client acceptance process.
  • Assist with conflict and independence checks related to firm acquisitions.
  • Assist with the testing, training, review and implementation of enhancements to the Intapp database.
  • Maintain the Intapp database by adding parties to existing matters and linking parties to matters.
  • Mentor and develop team members with respect to Conflict and Client Acceptance procedures.
  • Support and assist with strategic projects, including enhancing technology related to conflict check system.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of prior experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience required.
  • The ideal candidate must interact well with people at all levels with a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of initiative in exercising independent judgment and decision making in order to handle multiple functions in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment and to adapt quickly to changes in workflow, processes and procedures.
  • Well-organized, with an ability to prioritize and quickly identify critical tasks.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with an emphasis on detail
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong understanding of conflicts-of-interest, and business intake procedures in a professional services environment is preferred.
  • Operate with general or minimum remote supervision.
  • Coordinate with other team members to meet deadlines.
  • Strong team player who also works well individually.
  • Provide on-call coverage as needed.
  • Commitment to professional growth and willingness to learn or take on new skills.

"The compensation range for this role is $76,170 to $165,050. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location."
