Job Description:
Washington Tax Council Pathway Program-Two year rotation
Our Washington Tax Council (WTC) serves as a resource to Baker Tilly to provide insight to all aspects affecting tax including tax laws, tax compliance and tax consulting. Our team works closely with our offices to provide tax services to evaluate tax issues and mitigate tax risk. This is a great opportunity to learn more about and be part of a growing practice and be viewed as one of the “go-to” tax experts in our firm. This role plays in a national space and you will provide services around technical tax issues. This is a two year rotational program. We are looking for 2-3 Seniors or Managers.
This is an internal position with WTC to provide thought leadership to the firm’s tax practice and its external clients.
This position is ideal for strong technical specialists who want to expand their technical skills, as well as explain, advise and teach other tax professionals the latest in tax legislation, regulations and other guidance.

What you will do:
Fully immerse yourself in the WTC processes, including understanding the intricacies of partnership, corporate, compensation and benefits, international, and other relevant tax areas
Develop specialized technical expertise in your area of focus within WTC
Assist with researching technical issues for and provide transaction advice to engagement teams, including review of both proposed and executed transactions and tax returns
Assist with analyzing IRS regulations and related guidance and distill them into internal and external thought leadership communications
Assist with developing and presenting content for internal and external webinars, tax conferences, industry meetings
Perform technical reviews of industry group articles and presentations
Assist with creating toolkits and white papers for engagement teams on specific issues
Monitor federal legislation and U.S. Supreme Court cases with tax implications/changes in order to provide internal and external insights
Collaborate frequently with WTC colleagues and internal clients to accomplish all of the above
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or law, or a similar degree in business
Masters or advanced degree highly desirable
CPA or JD preferred
One years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates
Diligence in staying abreast of tax developments, frequently self-studying topics that are relevant to their team, and exhibits intellectual curiosity
Strong familiarity with tax research tools
Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills
Demonstrated strong writing skills
Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the "big picture" as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects
Ability to modify their schedule on a daily/weekly basis as tax developments occur
Willingness to engage in public speaking (both in person and online)
An eagerness to promote the WTC brand internally and the BT brand externally.
For California, Colorado, New York and Washington: The compensation range for this role is $97,420 to $211,090. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
