About the Role:
Are you a seasoned expert in technical business management with a passion for process innovation and strategic impact? AT&T is seeking a Principal Tech Business Management professional to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of critical business processes within our technical organization. This role specifically focuses on managing intake and capacity planning for the Consumer Technology eXperience (CTX) organization, ensuring seamless coordination and prioritization of projects that drive exceptional customer experiences. You will leverage deep business acumen and emerging technology trends to solve complex problems, influence executive decisions, and drive organizational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Process Design and Implementation
Define, design, and deploy efficient, scalable processes for intake, evaluation and prioritization, and product team capacity planning within the Consumer technical organization.
Lead process improvement initiatives that streamline operations and enhance productivity.
Implement Agile methodologies and deploy relevant tools to support agile practices.
Compliance Support
Develop, maintain, and enforce compliance policies, standards, and processes.
Manage audit and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
Conduct process and quality audits to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning efforts to safeguard operations.
IT Project Management & Front Door Process for CTX
Manage IT project intake and front door processes specifically for the Consumer Technology eXperience (CTX) organization.
Oversee capacity planning to ensure CTX projects are prioritized and resourced effectively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project governance and delivery excellence within CTX.
Analysis and Reporting
Develop and maintain performance metrics, scorecards, and detailed analyses to monitor organizational health.
Identify performance gaps and recommend actionable solutions to enhance outcomes.
Planning and Strategy
Coordinate infrastructure programs and maintain technology roadmaps aligned with business goals.
Participate in strategic and tactical planning activities to support long-term growth.
Create clear, effective communications tailored for technical audiences and leadership.
Job Contribution:
As a Principal Tech Business Management expert, you will:
Lead the design and management of complex technical business processes with minimal oversight.
Apply broad business knowledge and strategic insight to emerging trends and technologies.
Drive major improvements in processes such as data analysis, reporting, intake, and capacity planning for the Consumer Technology eXperience (CTX) organization — one of AT&T’s largest and most complex technology segments.
Serve as an informal leader and mentor within the team, guiding others through challenging issues and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Collaborate frequently with senior leadership, influencing executive decisions through expert recommendations.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science, Business, or related field preferred.
7+ years of relevant experience in technical business management, process design, or related areas.
Certifications relevant to process improvement, project management, Agile, or compliance (e.g., PMP, Agile Scrum Master, Six Sigma) are highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
Deep expertise in process design, compliance management, intake and capacity planning, and strategic planning.
Strong analytical skills with experience in metrics development and performance reporting.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and front door processes, especially within CTX or similar technical organizations.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and executive audiences.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
Leadership mindset with a passion for mentoring and developing others.

Our Principal Tech Business Mgmt, earns between $130,700-$196,100 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
