Director of Marketing Technology (B2B)

Director of Marketing Technology is a transformative role in the Marketing & Growth Organization (MGO) that is responsible for driving B2B MarTech strategy and its execution with matrixed teams. This role involves leveraging technology to optimize marketing effectiveness, enhance customer engagement, and driving B2B digital revenue growth in close partnership with B2B Marketing. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader in the Marketing Technology space with experience in Digital Customer insights/engagements, have a strong background in both digital marketing and technology, with a deep understanding of B2B marketing dynamics. A forward-looking mindset is required to drive strategic technology roadmap development for the organization ensuring long-term growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing technology strategy that aligns with the overall business objectives and marketing goals.
  • Collaborate with senior Marketing & Technology leadership to identify and prioritize technology investments.

Technology Management:

  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of marketing technology tools, including CDP, GenAI, marketing automation, analytics platforms, and other relevant software.
  • Ensure seamless integration of marketing technologies with other business systems (e.g., sales, creative supply chain, etc..).
  • Lead the development and implementation of data-driven marketing use cases and strategies.
  • Ensure the collection, analysis, and utilization of marketing data to drive decision-making and optimize marketing campaigns.
  • Implement advanced analytics and reporting tools to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.

Process & Execution Optimization:

  • Streamline marketing processes through automation and GenAI technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices for campaign implementation, lead generation, and digital customer engagement.

Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing technology team.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities to cultivate technical talent
  • Foster a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales & IT.

Vendor Management:

  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, marketing or a related field.
    • MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in marketing technology or a related field, with a focus on B2B marketing, ideally in a transformational capacity.
    • Deep expertise in modern B2B MarTech stack, including but not limited to Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), Salesforce, marketing automation, content marketing, and contemporary analytics tools.
    • Strong experience in leading marketing technology teams in related industries.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent strategic thinking, leadership and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
    • Excellence in stakeholder management, change management, communications and influence.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and matrixed environment of a competitive industry.
